How did you start?
Started in 1999 with three other friends who all had an interest in older country Appalachian music.
Where are you based?
Lynchburg Va.
Please give an example of your music writing process?
Like most songwriters the process can be different from song to song. Some songs come all at once and others you have to wrangle out over time.
What are you working on right now?
We just recorded 5 songs at our friends studio in Amsterdam. We plan to finish the rest of the recordings over the next few months.
What is your gear setup?
I play a Kay guitar from the 1940’s I run it through an RL Baggs preamp.
What do you like to do outside of music and does it affect your music?
I am also a carpenter. I’d say it does effect our music and keeps us connected to the hard working people of the world.
How would you describe your music genre?
Appalachian folk music.
Do you know any music theory?
No
What are your plans for the future?
To continue to work on songwriting and touring and spending time with my wife and children.
How did you get into music?
Music is a family thing for me. My fathers whole family were and are musicians and I was around music from a very early age.
What are you listening to at the moment?
The kinks.
