Sydney psych-rock band Grinding Eyes have released their dark new single/video “Until It Falls Apart” lifted from their forthcoming album, Taste The Monochrome, out May 14 via Poison City Records. “Until It Falls Apart” is also available as part of a limited edition split 7-inch single with Tumbleweed, out now through seminal label Tym Records.
“Until It Falls Apart” is a sinister slice of psych-rock infused with shoegaze and wrapped in a blanket of darkness. Perfectly capturing the feeling of chaotic despair when life spirals out of control, long past the point of no return, the video is a psychedelic trip through the depths of collapse.
Frontman Matt Wicks explains: “‘Until It Falls Apart’ was written on the road in the US. I was constantly moving, thinking about how to capture that feeling when one’s life falls apart, you know – even in slow motion – you’re being self-destructive and you can see disaster on the horizon, but you still can’t control the dark feelings rising within you like you might spin you wildly out of control and there’s nothing you can do.”
