GOOD FOOD MONTH ANNOUNCES 2019 PROGRAM FEATURING THE LEGENDARY MARCO PIERRE WHITE * TICKETS ON SALE NOW

Good Food Month presented by Citi returns to Melbourne in June with several incredible feature events, consisting of exclusive dinner experiences and tantalising lunches held at this year’s Good Food Month Restaurant at Canvas House, South Melbourne. The diverse and inspiring program once again welcomes one of the world’s biggest culinary legends, Marco Pierre White, alongside Australia’s hottest homegrown talent including Andrew McConnell, Phil Wood, Matt Stone, Paul Iskov and Joel Valvasori-Pereza. Tickets are on sale now at www.goodfoodmonth.com/melbourne

This year, Good Food Month has chosen one of Melbourne’s most exciting spaces as the new home for its series of unique feature events. A spectacular warehouse space in South Melbourne, Canvas House, will play host to an exciting program of dinners with Marco Pierre White, including a collaboration with Phil Wood of Pt Leo Estate and Laura (Good Food Guide’s New Restaurant of the Year), pasta showcase with Andreas Papadakis (Tipo 00) and Joel Valvasori (Lulu La Delizia), Young Chefs Dinner with the young guns of Australia’s top kitchens and a very special Sunday Roast. More exciting events will be announced soon.

Venessa Cowell, Director of Food Events, Fairfax said: “After last year’s custom-built, pop-up restaurant in the heart of Federation Square, we are excited to evolve our program and launch our new home for the 2019 event series. Canvas House provides the perfect setting for a myriad of food experiences, as we play tribute to the inimitable Marco Pierre White and celebrate the local superstars who are shaping our culinary future. We are pleased to be working with our friends Canvas House and Tommy Collins by Atlantic Group. Canvas House, the centrally-located and unique warehouse space designed specifically for those looking for a distinctive and beautiful experience, and Tommy Collins, Melbourne’s premier event caterers.

The much-loved Let’s Do Lunch series returns with new wine partner, Church Road, opening up Melbourne’s amazing lunch offerings at Good Food Guide hatted restaurants, for a specially curated price of $45 including a glass of Church Road, beer or soft drink throughout June.

The New Vanguard | Friday, 7 June 6.30pm | $170 Chefs Matt Stone (Oakridge, Yarra Valley) and Paul Iskov (Fervor, Perth) are part of the new chef vanguard putting hyper- local, sustainably sourced produce on the menu. At just 22, Stone was approached by designer and Greenhouse Perth owner Joost Bakker to join his team as head chef. Here, Stone embraced Joost’s philosophies of preparing fresh, sustainable, locally-sourced, whole-foods, and made a name for himself as a serious innovator and progressive chef. At Fervor, Iskov harnesses locally sourced native produce and shares it with diners at unique locations across WA, including salt lakes, beautiful bush land and pristine beaches. Tickets include four courses with matching wines and beer supplied by James Squire.

Young Chefs Lunch with Marco Pierre White presented by Citi | Saturday, 8 June I 1.30pm | $230 Mentored by the master himself Marco Pierre White, Melbourne’s next generation of culinary superstars present an extraordinary lunch. Sunday Best with Marco Pierre White and Andrew McConnell | Sunday, 9 June 1.30pm | $270 What better way to spend a winter Sunday afternoon than by a fire with friends, amazing wines and a traditional Sunday roast. Marco Pierre White is joined by one of Melbourne’s greatest, Andrew McConnell, and together they’re going to elevate the Sunday Roast in the way only these two super chefs can. Melbournians are invited to make new memories over a contemporary take on the family-style roast with matching wines and beer supplied by James Squire.

Tamara Pidcock, Marketing and Sponsorships Manager at Citi says, “Australians love their food, and increasingly want dining to be more than a meal and a drink. Citi is so proud to partner with Good Food Month as it provides Australians with the experiential element they have been asking for, whether that’s being transported to another time or place with a delicious culinary experience. Good Food Month also allows Citi to show our support for Australia’s dynamic, fast-growing food scene as it continues to thrive. We are delighted to reward our customers by providing a discount to see the best of Good Food Month and are offering Citi customers 20% off the ticket price to the feature events.”

Citi has been presenting partner of Good Food Month for 11 years and is passionate about dining in Australia. Through the Citibank Dining Program, Citi partners with over 400 restaurants to offer Citi cardholders a free bottle of wine when they dine and pay with their Citi Card.

Jacob’s Creek Barossa Signature and select wines from its portfolio have been paired to Melbourne’s favourite restaurants and dishes for the perfect culinary match. Sourced from both the Barossa and Eden Valleys, The Jacob’s Creek Barossa Signature range celebrates the classic varietal expressions from the region.

Dan Swince, Jacob’s Creek Chief Winemaker, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with this year’s renowned Melbourne Good Food Month. Aussies love to catch up over good food and great wine, which is reflective of our life-loving Australian spirit.”

Good Food Month has also partnered with Melbourne’s Tommy Collins by Atlantic Group to deliver the food experience for feature events.

Tommy McIntosh, Creative Director of Tommy Collins by Atlantic Group said: “It is an understatement to say we are excited to be given the opportunity to partner with and support some of Australia’s most talented and established chefs, along with the young up and coming rock stars of the industry. Being a part of Good Food Month has always been on the Tommy Collins catering bucket list”.
