Girls Love DJs teams up with REASN for pop smash GONE
The wonderfully eclectic Girls Love DJs continues to surprise with his diversity with this stellar new pop single GONE, a seriously sophisticated and immensely catchy effort that marks yet another new sonic chapter for the Dutch artist.
Girls Love DJs joins forces with American singer-songwriter REASN for this superb new track. He hails from Columbia, Missouri and released his debut album 70 West this year, supporting the likes of Estelle, BoB, Tinashe and PJ Morton on tour. When Girls Love DJs received his vocals for this track, it was love at first sound.
REASN’s candid lyrics tell a story of hedonistic escapism over Girls Love DJs’ chugging ‘80s-vibe electro pop beat. “I know there are a lot of people like me who sometimes feel trapped in their own thoughts and body and will do anything to escape” the singer explains. The arpeggiated bassline and taut snares recall the Drive soundtrack, but sweet piano breaks/builds provide a beautiful contrast. The earworm chorus brings a euphoric vibe, working beautifully against the moody feel of the verses.
Following on from his massive collaboration with Sam Feldt, Just Dropped In (My Condition), Girls Love DJs has delivered yet another killer cut on GONE which shows his ambitions are bigger than straight-up dancefloor destruction. It’s already been the most viewed ID from the Spinnin’ ADE Day Mix on 1001tracklists.com, which suggests it’s destined for very big things indeed.
