Singer-songwriter Freja Frances returns with another poignant new single, Papercuts, out now via ShimmerSun Music.
Freja explains “the single is about a feeling of self-inflicted isolation and a distance from reality, told through fairytale themes.“ Papercuts yet again demonstrates Freja’s unique ability to create stunningly minimalist music that is both emotive and relatable. Accompanied by a captivating piano-led melody and a twinkle of a cello, Freja’s authentic lead vocal is able to soar. The single will also include a remix by Alex Hughes, adding another layer of ethereal soundscapes, sounding akin to the likes of Låpsley.
Since the release of her debut EP Ghosts in 2015, Freja has received praise from various publications including For Folk’s Sake, Gigslutz and Impose to name a few. She has also performed twice at Sofar Sounds London and supported Dodgy at Knutsford Music Festival last summer.
Papercuts is out now via ShimmerSun Music.
