THE EMPTY THREATS TAKE OVER HINDLEY STREET IN NEW MUSIC VIDEO

In celebration of the release of their recently released self-titled EP and a successful year of back-to-back sold-out live shows, Adelaide’s enigmatic neo-psych rock group The Empty Threats have just dropped a brand new music video for the EP’s energetic track titled ‘Sightseeing’.

Rounding off a year of releases and sold-out headline shows, the music video for Sightseeing features frontman Stuart Patterson dancing down Adelaide’s notorious nightlife hotspot Hindley Street in one take to (at times bewildered) members of the public. Sightseeing captures the high energy antics fans have come to expect from the experimental rock group. The music video was directed and edited by Conor Mercury. Watch it here.

The COVID-era has seen the finalists for ‘Best Group’ at the 2021 SAM Awards, perfect their live performance with consistently packed shows across some of Adelaide’s iconic venues including, Thebarton Theatre (see their performance at the One12 Festival here), Jive, The Lab, Music SA’s Scouted 2021 event (in collaboration with the launch of Live Nation’s ONES TO WATCH platform) at Lion Arts Factory and recently headlining their own mini-festival in celebration of their EP release at Wundenbergs Recording Studio.

The outdoor music event saw a collaboration with Adelaide’s indie-label PAK Music and local food/beverage vendors and artists. Despite a challenging year for the live music industry, The Empties revelled in the opportunity to share the stage with local musicians and celebrate the release of their highly-anticipated EP.

In major news for the band, The Empties have just been announced for WOMADelaide’s 2022 line-up. They will be bringing their mesmerising stage presence to the festival’s 30th Anniversary celebrations in Adelaide’s Botanic Park. In what is set to be the biggest crowd of The Empties career, their performance is sure to win over WOMADelaide’s punters in March.
