Oakland’s multi-talented rapper/vocalist/producer/songwriter Elujay began crafting his sound at the age of 14.  Musically inspired by Hip-hop and R&B legends D’Angelo, Musiq Soulchild, and Kendrick Lamar, Elujay started producing instrumentals and writing songs representative of his love for both neo-soul and hip-hop.  The Northern California artist has been on a mission to create “honest soulful music” while expressing his feelings and experiences growing up in the ever-changing Bay Area environment. In 2‘016, the 21-year-old’s debut album Jentrify,’  revealed the crooners’ musical talents, and received high critical praise from The Fader, Pigeons and Planes, Noisey, Mass Appeal, and many more! 

Today, Elujay reveals new single upcoming summer album cut “Starchild.”  The single serves as a splendid deviation from Elujay’s previous releases, relying on his singing voice more so than the melodic rapping that fans are  accustomed to hearing from the Northern California rising star.  “Starchild” transgresses Elujay more into the R&B spectrum and  acts as a testament to his growth as an artist thanks to his ability to transcend genres seamlessly. On the single’s cohesive production that utilizes Bay Area slap beat paired with Elujay’s mesmerizing hooks, the team of esteemed producers including Aabo, as well as guitarist, coldwaterchris, and HXNS, solidifies the production with an additional layer of jazz-influences.
