Brisbane-based producer du0 has today revealed the stimulating accompanying video for his new single ‘Way Back Down‘ – directed by Gregory Kelly, and shot by Dan Dunn at Bighouse Arts in Coburg North, Melbourne.
The video clip features choreographers Brett Beckhurst and Phoebe Belles in a warehouse with possessions covered in white sheets. The male observes as the female reveals herself and begins an interpretive dance. As she progresses, the lighting enhances and the room becomes alive, with belongings unravelling from beneath their sheets. The emotions evoked from the scene cause the male to snap out of his trance, and join forces with the female for a brief moment, before she vanishes, and the room returns to its original state.
du0 talks about the making of the clip:
“The concept revolves around a man visiting the memory of a past love. The warehouse he visits represents his mind, and in that warehouse are the memories of a past love and their belongings. As the past love starts to dance around the space the memory becomes clearer and their love is unveiled.”
Since the release of ‘Way Back Down, du0 has seen strong praise from the likes of triple j, triple j Unearthed, Pilerats, Cool Accidents, Future Mag Music and LA on Lock (USA).
du0’s songwriting has already received well-deserved recognition with an LA Music Award and as a finalist at the International Songwriting Competition. The artist has big plans for 2020, with a slew of new singles on the horizon.
