How did you start?
Hi ! My name is Charly Corbin, also knowed as Comah as artist, pioneer of the Minimal Prog style.
I started to make music when i was studying the sound design. It was in 2013, i was 24. I always say that my first cool track have been released the first January 2014 at the age of 25. 2014 is also the start for my career.
Where are you based?
I live in Annecy, in France.
Please give an example of your music creative process?
For production, i just sit on my chair, and the ideas comes by creating. I start with drumlines and i try to found a cool bassline. Then i construct the track between this.
What are you working on right now?
Right now, i’m working on a fresh new single, i think it will be ready soon. Also i’m working on an other project called Slowm (2nd artist name).
What is your gear setup?
My studio is simple, a computer, monitoring speakers, headphones, a sound card, and a master keyboard. I work on Logic Pro X.
When i take my head off the computer, i like to meet my close friends, i give them a listen to the new previews i’m working on and they give me feedback.
What do you like to do outside of music and does it affect your music?
I love to drive, sometimes without destination, just driving and listening some new musics. I listen music completely different than i do, so i can take a breath about my music. I listen much musical genre. Also i like sport, travel.
How would you describe your music genre?
Since i started music, i worked on a style called Minimal Progressive. It’s a simple structure like minimal music but with hard rollin bass like progressive, but with a lower bpm (128).
What are your plans for the future?
My future plans, I would like to change a little bit my style and switch to something between Groove Delight, Boris Brejcha, and Alok. This is where i see my future. The new single i m working on will be on this way.
How did you get into music?
I started music very young, i did 7 years of music theory, 5 years of flute and 2 of synth.
I did not decided to be a dj or a producer. I was making music for fun when i was studying the sound design. My tracks worked. and that’s it.
Who are your top 5 influences and icons?
At the moment i listen to much different things : Groove Delight, Alok, Boris Brejcha, but also Petit Biscuit, Holmsey, Madeon and some rap artist like Dope DOD i really like it. much different stuff as you can see ! I think these artists are the artists in my top 7 actually but there is much more artists i appreciate, it can be also just for a single track.
