What is your name and role within CMC$?
My name is Yael and I am a dj and producer.
How did you start?
At the age of 14 I got in touch with music. I really wanted to be a DJ so I borrowed some money from my parents to buy a cheap dj set. At the age of 15 I tried to produce my own tracks.
Where are you based?
Amsterdam, The Netherlands!
Please give an example of your music writing process?
Most of the time I start making chord progressions and a lead with my piano. Then I put some drums underneath and expand the whole track.
What are you working on right now?
A couple of new singles for the rest of the Summer.
What is your gear setup?
Just a laptop and studio monitors.
What do you like to do outside of music and does it affect your music?
I like to watch a lot of movies, series and playing all kinds of different games with friends.
How would you describe your music genre?
Emotional Dance Music with a twist of Pop.
Do you know any music theory?
Yes I’m musically educated, but most of the time I’m just messing around to create crazy stuff.
What are your plans for the future?
I’ll release a lot of new music, do a lot of touring and I hope to play at some sick big main stages.
