Live ‘Album Release’ show @ The Underbelly Hoxton London 23rd February 2019
London cinematic-electronic trio KOMRAUS are pleased to announce details of a brand new track ‘Gas’ taken from their forthcoming debut album ‘Untie The Ropes’ due this February.
The band say: “‘Gas’ is kind of satire – song about us, modern human beings, addicted to the urban life, living like automatons in the need of gas (breathing gas) to keep us alive”.
Last year, the band released the empowering music video for ‘Untie The Ropes’ (Watch here), directed by Pedro Caxade, who has worked on their previous videos and for Channel 4, Sky TV and a film with Aidan Gillen. The video premiered at the band’s sold out show at The Victoria in London to raise funds for LGBT Refugees through CEAR (Spanish Commission Helping refugees).
KOMRAUS the brainchild of songwriters / composers Sara Rioja (vocals) and Martin Komraus, includes Giuseppe Grondona (Drums) and Miguel Ramires (Keys and synths), mixing trip-hop beats with cinematic universes and emotive vocals.
The band released their debut single ‘If I Am Dreaming’ in 2018 through AWAL / Kobalt and were selected to perform at the Discovery Talent showcase in London, as part of the Independent Venue Week and got playlisted by Shoredicth radio with great feedback from the industry.
Currently with M.A.R.S Label group, Greenhouse Talent, [PIAS] Distribution and The Orchard in US, KOMRAUS have released two more singles from their forthcoming album, ‘Just Say My Name’ and current track ‘Untie The Ropes’. The album was recorded live in one take at Andy Whitmore Studios in West London (Lemar, Eternal, Elton John).
The band detail the album: “This album represents a breaking free of our own boundaries; a dare to do, a dare to say and a dare to love album. It is inspired in the different scenes and situations we all live throughout our life performing all the roles our life is about, like if it was a theatre play. Each song talks about different optics of human relationships as well as personal growth and some social and political matters. One song is written from the perspective of a free person, with no ties or social limits; another one is from the one who is dependant to someone who loves; another one from the one who is addicted to the modern life and lives like a machine, another one from a mother who sees his child grow and wishes him/her to be free and fly. They are all part of an imaginary and personal world that we all live: always real, always true. We recorded all songs in one take, so we could transmit to the listener a bit of what we give when we perform live”.
Having already toured internationally with sold out headline shows in London, KOMRAUS have recently completed a series of shows in Europe including Spain, Jazz in the Park in Romania, 7th Heaven in Corfu, Live at Heart in Sweden + a mini Scandinavian tour and will be taking their stunning live experience back to London @ The Underbelly in Hoxton on 23rd February 2019.
