It’s been a big year for Queensland punk rock outfit The Chats. The self-described “shed-rock” punk outfit are supporting the Cosmic Psychos, Queens of the Stone Age and sold out their first headline tour of Australia, not to mention touring the UK and Europe for the first time. So to cap the year off the boys are coming back to Melbourne to headline the revamped 3hree 8ight 6ix at Chasers nightclub in South Yarra on Friday 7 December, a room with so much history it’s only natural the new crop of Aussie bands step in to create more history at this iconic venue.
With special guests to be announced soon, catch The Chats before the release of their debut album in 2019.
‘Probably the most Australian thing since Neighbours,’ reckons UK site Clash; with 3 million+ views of instant classic/Centrelink-
inspired ‘Smoko’, the power of The Chats cannot be denied! We agree with one fan of the track, make this the national anthem.

Chasers located on Chapel St in South Yarra has undergone an extensive refit to provide Melbourne music fans and Australian concert promoters with an important mid-sized venue as Three Eight Six. The venue has a 24 hour licence and an overall capacity to hold up to 900 people. Chasers has been operating as a venue and night club for almost 40 years and there will be a huge celebration in November. In the late 1980s through to the late 1990s the iconic venue and night spot hosted many live music concerts including Sonic Youth, The Church, Hunters & Collectors, You Am I and Regurgitator, as well as some of Melbourne’s most popular and enduring club nights. Chasers recently announced that it will be hosting more live music under the brand Chasers 3hree 8ight 6ix.
