Where are you currently based and what is the music scene like there?
I am based in Casablanca,Morocco.
I don’t think we can talk about a “scene” for the moment, but we really have some interesting things happening around and also some really talented peeps.
How did you first start playing music?
I started music at very young age, maybe when I was 15/16 yo, I used to throw parties with friends in high school where I DJ, and at that time already I have known that music is what I wanna do in life.
I started getting in touch with people in the business and then I have started learning things about music seriously and getting bigger and bigger.
What’s been happening recently?
A lot of things actually, i have been traveling a lot this summer, I played in Greece, Spain, France.. and whenever I had a moment i would go to the studio and finalize my projects.
Not too long ago you released your single NGINGUMZULU, who or what influenced the sound and songwriting for this single?
The track is kind of a “Nervous” afro tribal house with an electronic twist. There is no specific influence, but it is absolutely a mix of all styles I like.
Did you work with anybody else on NGINGUMZULU? If so, what role did they play and how did they come to work with you on this single?
Yes, the track is with a collaboration with south african singer “Viiiictor May”.
I have found out a super nice track from him accidentally on Spotify and really loved his vibe. I contacted him straight and then we decided to work on this project directly.
Im so happy about the results because he really added a super powerful touch into it.
How has the response been from fans/industry for the NGINGUMZULU single?
The response is really nice, the track is supported by some of the greatests in the game now like Pablo Fierro,Rocco Rodamaal,Themba,Hyenah to name few.
And it is actually #20 on the Traxsource Afro House Chart.
How do you usually go about writing music?
I really have no specific process, I just follow my feelings and go with the flow.
Where and when did you record/produce?
I produced the track in my small home studio in Casablanca, the vocals were recorded in South Africa.
What programs/instruments do you use to write/record/produce?
I am mainly on Fruity Loops 20.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
I am listening to many artists, and differant styles. But Im really into Vince Watson’s new album “DnA”
It’s a masterpiece!!!
What do you like to do away from music?
You’ve recently signed with MFM Booking, how did you come to partner with MFM Booking?
I have been contacted by Harald who is MFM’s boss who showed interest in having me and I said YES with no hesitation because ain’t nothing but a pleasure to belong to such a Roster and work with such an agency.
How has the experience with MFM Booking been so far?
It is really nice, we are moving step by step, discussing very often with team to make sure everything is on the right way.
What’s planned for the remainder of 2019 going into 2020?
I have many planned releases with some well respected labels. Also confirming many gigs all around. So get ready to catch me soon in your city.
Favourite food and place to hangout?
Favourite food is absolutely the moroccan one! I like greek food as well especially Souvlaki and Tzatziki.
My favourite place to hangout is my studio.
