Where are you currently based and what is the music scene like there?
I’m back and forth between Ireland and London. Ireland is where I grew up hearing live music in all of the pubs and where people did it for fun, and London is where all the opportunities for getting my music to people seemed to be, so the music scene is really different in both but was a huge part of my journey.
How would you describe your sound?
Country pop.
How did you first start playing music?
My family were always playing music and I loved watching Judy Garland movies, so I naturally was always singing.
Your debut album Talk Of This Town is out now, where and when did you record?
I recorded it over the last two years in London, Nashville and Belfast too! So there’s a little bit of all the places that have been part of my journey on there!
What influenced the songwriting for the album and how do you usually go about writing songs?
I write songs based on experience or seeing other people go through things. I usually think of a lyric or an idea and take it into the studio and expand on it with other writers, but sometimes it just starts with someone playing a few chords on guitar and going from there. It’s fun because the songwriting process is always different.
What equipment did you use to put the album together?
For me I just did the writing and singing and I got to work with amazing producers who built the songs from there, they went off and made the songs sound like they do and brought them to life!
How do you prepare for each show?
I usually do a nervous dance before I go on stage, that’s about it but as soon as I get up on the stage the nerves go and it’s the most fun ever!
What do you like to do outside of music?
I like to read and be outdoors when I can, that’s what I miss most about home when I’m away. The scenery here is amazing.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
Kelsea Ballerini, Old Dominion, Maren Morris are people I’m loving at the minute!
What do you have planned for the remainder of 2018 going into 2019?
I’m so excited to go to Australia and play some shows with Morgan Evans, then heading off on my headline tour around the UK! After that I want to keep writing loads and we’ll see where it goes from there!
Favourite food and place to hang out?
Chocolate and I love getting to just hang out at home with my family and mostly my cats!
