TOURING REGIONAL AUSTRALIA AND CELEBRATING THE SUCCESS OF POSTCARDS FROM THE SHELL HOUSE
ARIA #1 ALBUM POSTCARDS FROM THE SHELL HOUSE OUT NOW
Busby Marou, aka Thomas Busby & Jeremy Marou, are still out on the road undertaking one of the biggest tours Australia will see this year. The duo’s Postcards From The Shell House Tour, in support of their ARIA #1 album by the same name, kicked off in May earlier this year, and is now making its way through New South Wales and Victoria, with full dates below.
The Queensland lads claimed their first ARIA #1 with Postcards From The Shell House which has been nominated for an ARIA award for Best Blues & Roots Album. The album has also been nominated for The Triffid’s Queensland Album of the Year, with public voting open until November 8. The winner will be announced the following day at a special event at The Triffid, celebrating its third birthday with the winning album’s spine being painted on the wall.
Featuring the singles Getaway Car and Best Part of Me, Postcards From the Shell House was recorded with Jon Hume (Evermore) at The Stables studios in Gisbourne, VIC as well as during sessions on Great Keppel Island and on a boat.Postcards From The Shell House returns the pair to their roots in a number of ways. The shell house in question, an old heritage-listed building on Great Keppel Island off the coast of their native Rockhampton, has great significance. Early in their career Tom and Jeremy would sit around a campfire there and sing songs, one or two of which ended up on record. Last year, with producer Jon Hume in tow, that same method in the same location produced a few songs for the new album.
Busby Marou’s debut self-titled album was certified ARIA Gold in Australia in July 2014, while their follow up album Farewell Fitzroy debuted at #5 on the album chart. Postcards From The Shell House is Busby Marou’s first ARIA #1 album.
