Now, almost six years on, Bedroom Suck Records and RemoIn August of 2012, fledgling Brisbane label Bedroom Suck Records released into the world an incredible debut LP from a group of Melbourne musicians collectively calling themselves Boomgates. A supergroup of sorts, the band included members of flagship Melbourne acts like Twerps, Dick Diver and Eddy Current Suppression Ring. The album was a hit, going on to become the sound of that summer and countless summers to follow. The band played Meredith Music Festival that year, cementing their place in the lexicon of Melbourne music as an essential part of that ‘Melbourne sound’.
