Today, legendary Melbourne punk rock band Bodyjar announce that their new album New Rituals will be released on February 4, 2022 on the bands own label Pile Of Sand Records.
For nearly 30 years now, Bodyjar have built their local & international following with relentless touring and blistering high energy live shows, that have made them one of the most respected punk rock bands in the world.BODYJAR ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM “NEW RITUALS”
Produced by Bodyjar and Sam Johnson (Northlane, Luca Brasi, Camp Cope, The Bennies) andmixed by Steve Evetts (New Found Glory, Architects), New Rituals sees Bodyjar return to the up- tempo catchy punk rock the band are renowned for. Calling on all their experience over the years, the new album is a true return to form from one of Australia’s finest.
The third single to drop from the album is a cover of the classic Dragon hit Rain, which follows on from previous singles Big Shot andGet Out Of My Head.
“Dragon’s Rain is a song that we have toyed with at jams for over 10 years but we never really grabbed a hold of it until this album. We really wanted a cool 80’s song on the album because Hazy Shade Of Winter always went down so well live and we haven’t recorded a cover in a long time. I’d also just finished reading ‘Chasing The Dragon’, which is Marc Hunters biography and was blown away by the band’s story. Overall a great band of song writers, with Todd Hunter also writing Age Of Reason for John Farnham. I know we never had THAT kind of success but I feel a connection with them because they always seemed to put the songs first. There’s something amazing about it, it was their comeback song and it worked great! So with Todd’s blessing we can finally put it out” – Cam Baines – Bodyjar.BODYJAR ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM “NEW RITUALS”
To survive over 25 years as a critically acclaimed and popular international live touring act takes more than good luck…it also takes determination, integrity and a knack for writing great songs. If you’ve spent any time skateboarding in Australia over the last few decades, your ears would have been assaulted by the sheer melodic mastery of tracks such as Not The Same & One In A Million. New Rituals is the 7th LP for Bodyjar which harks back to those songs in what might be their most powerful record yet.
Bodyjar will be performing at Uncaged Festival early 2022, dates below.
