Already played on Hardwell’s radio show and early radio support of Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tiësto and of course in Blasterjaxx’s recent set, the duo’s rework of rising duo Crystal Lake’s Roots has been getting dance fans in a serious frenzy across the world. Finally, the time for it to be unleashed is almost here.

The track begins with a filtered down synth arpeggio creating a mystical vibe over taut kick drums. Pitched up vocal slices build the atmosphere, and then an almighty snare build-up launches the track into hyperspace. Tribal kick drum patterns hammer us into submission at the drop with a classic Blasterjaxx riff cutting through the track like a hot knife through butter.

The breakdown lays on the rousing emotions thick, with a glorious, melancholy string motif gliding against the synth arp. Next comes an orchestral string section playing an uplifting melody, with gorgeous synths supporting in tandem and slowly rising out of the background. The triumphant melodies are bolstered with kicks for a quick tease, before the final build takes us into giddy new heights. The contrast between the two sections is spectacular, something Blasterjaxx is so well known for.

Crystal Lake is a fast-rising duo from Israel who have found support from the likes of Tiësto, Showtek and Martin Garrix for their productions, with many millions of Spotify plays to their names and appearances at festivals like Mysteryland. “Our new sound is a combination of cinematic theme based music with hardstyle influenced melodies and powerful drops” they say of their sound.

Crystal Lake ‘Roots’ will be released on Maxximize Records on August 14.
