This May long weekend, Queensland electronic taste-maker festival ARCADIA returns for two days and two nights of jam-packed new music discovery in the stunning Goomburra Valley. With just five weeks to go, Arcadia today unveil their final line up of music and visual artists for their picturesque BYO camping event.
Leading the charge is Sydney duo Set Mo, bringing their best blissed-out beats for an exclusive DJ set. With their debut album ‘Surrender’ having landed in February, these next break out artists of the vibrant Australian house scene will headline the main stage under moonlit trees. Subtle, classy and brilliant, Melbourne producer Planéte brings the chill with his downtempo vibe. Buzz artist Luboku makes his Queensland debut at ARCADIA and ‘Girl on the Move’ by name and by nature, Gold Coast’s DVNA brings her unique blend of RnB and electronic sounds to the ARCADIA stage.
With a dedication to showcase local and emerging electronic sounds, the ARCADIA team has sourced talent primarily from Southeast Queensland, extending down the east coast of Australia. Showcasing a packed bill which runs deep across two stages featuring the next big things in the electronic scene including Penelope Two-Five, Daste, Dream Coast, Chris George, Hannah Doody, Sevader, Chris George, Avaxa, Gldnsmk, Xavi Xavi and the newly announced Health Club, GOO, Buff Girls, Will D. Ness, Matt Haynes, Tait Le Couteur, Nathan Sellin, Matt Treffene. Brisbane collective BTHC (Bad Taste House Collective) takes care of business over the Pans Stage on Sunday night with Gold Coast’s A.M Colony in charge of duties on the Saturday.
Guests will be treated to a spectacular celebration for the senses, illuminated by a myriad of stars suspended overhead across two nights. Now in its fourth year, the event continues to evolve while remaining true to the concept of ARCADIA; simplicity and happiness in harmony with nature. Championing not only local music artists, the ARCADIA team also announce a diverse range of local visual artists joining the line up today. Brisbane based Matte and Jay Jermyn will work across the weekend to enhance the natural backdrop of the Valley through a variety of mediums with visceral visuals experts Satans Rainbow in charge of main stage duties. With unique craft workshops and a few more surprises to be announced ahead of show time, ARCADIA is stepping it up for the biggest event yet.
For those looking to soak up just a small slice of the action, one day tickets are now on sale for the BYO event with tickets for The Arcadia Express – the festival’s bus transfer from Brisbane to the festival – available for purchase now. However veteran ARCADIANs will attest that the all-inclusive two day camping ticket is the best way to get the most out of a Goomburra Valley sunrise. As in previous years, on-site camping adjacent to the event space is included in the ticket price which is dotted with plenty of trees and hugged by the banks of Dalrymple Creek.
Name a more iconic duo than a long-weekend of musical discovery plus couple of hundred of your closest mates, we’ll wait. ARCADIA full pass and one day tickets are on sale HERE.
