Alex Lahey Releases New Single – “I Haven’t Been Taking Care Of Myself”

Alex Lahey has just dropped the second official single from her forthcoming debut album. The track, I Haven’t Been Taking Care Of Myself, has proven to be a fan favourite at many of Alex’s live shows, and under the production skills of Oscar Dawson, has stepped up to another sonic level.
Accompanied by an yet another unique video created by Jam Nawaz and Callum Preston, this time using stop motion animation, the video took 14 hours to film and used over 1800 stills with Callum’s own incredible illustrations.
Of the song itself, Alex says, “A lot of the songs on the record are about the relationships that we engage in with other people. ‘I Haven’t Been Taking Care Of Myself’ deviates from that in that it’s about the relationship that we have with ourselves and how that is reflected in the way we bring others into our lives. If you feel shit about yourself, you’re generally going to get off on the wrong foot with someone else.”
I Haven’t Been Taking Care Of Myself premiered on Sirius XM’s Alternative Nation station this week, showing yet again why Lahey is becoming an international force.
