Sydney’s psych/post-punk quartet, 100 are showing no signs of slowing down with their new
single “Just Us”.
Working again with producer Wade Keighran (Hockey Dad, Polish Club) “Just Us” sees the
band delving into a richer, darker sound – a lurching bass line and a trappy hip-hop groove drive
the song forward while vocalist Rowen Tucker spits cutting witticisms over it all. The song
reaches an apex of boiling guitar distortions and crunching drums which carry the last line “the
last two people on Earth” back into the darkness and quickly as the wave rolled in, “Just Us” is a
short, sharp jab from one of the fittest bands in Sydney right now.
The band have kept busy in the past six months, releasing their debut EP Cortisone and selling
out the launch at The Chippo Hotel. They then released a split 7” with Sydney mates Nick
Nuisance & The Delinquents, consequently selling out the Sydney launch show at Marrickville
Bowlo before touring the east coast in support of the release.
To kick off 2019 in style the band were nominated for two FBI SMAC Awards; Best Live Act &
Next Big thing.
100 are fast becoming known as a must-see live act after securing slots on the Secret Garden
Festival and Bad Friday line-ups.
“Alexa, play that song that makes me want to punch the fkn air.”
– Lucy Smith, Triple J
“What 100 lack in search engine optimisation they more than make up for where it really counts:
up close and live, 100’s hard-hitting, punchy post-punk comes into its own”
– FBI SMAC Nomination
