Video – Rae Morris (UK) ‘Do It’
Rae Morris has a new single out – it’s called Do It and the official video is amazing. Produced by her long-term collaborator Fryars and My Riot (London Grammar, Bloc Party, RHODES), and featuring Rae’s trademark ethereal vocals over euphoric electronic pop elements, Do It is a highly personal tale of letting go and jumping into the unknown.
Rae said: “This song is a dare to myself; it’s about daring to take a risk and choosing to take the more exciting route! It kind of exists as a part two of Cold from my first album Unguarded. It’s what happens when you go back into the studio to make more music. Do you write another duet and do a similar thing, or take a risk and do something you’ve never done before? It’s also pretty damn sexy!”
Do It is the second single from Rae’s forthcoming sophomore album, due for release in 2018. The song was recently selected as Tune of the Week by BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw!
The video sees the super stylish artist from Blackpool, UK roaming throughout NYC, hanging with friends, eating ice cream and picnicking with cute dogs. The video was a collaboration with Noel Paul (Bat For Lashes, Röyksopp), who also directed the video for Rae’s previous single Reborn.
After signing to Atlantic Records at the young age of 17, Rae honed her craft and developing her sound through a string of EP releases. In January 2015, Rae released her debut album Unguarded, produced by Ariel Rechtshaid (HAIM, Charli XCX), to much critical acclaim.Unguarded hit the top 10 in the UK album charts and announced her as one of the most relevant, exciting new artists to come out of the UK. Rae also found time to lend her unmistakeable vocals on collaborations with Clean Bandit (Up Again), Bombay Bicycle Club (Luna),Fakear, Kaytranada and Rejjie Snow.
